App Privacy

# Privacy Policy for CompassGuru

**Effective date:** 1 Sep 2026

## The short version

CompassGuru does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There

are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no network connection of

any kind — everything the app does happens entirely on your device.

## What the app accesses, and why

CompassGuru uses your device's built-in motion and orientation sensors

(magnetometer, accelerometer, and gyroscope) to power two features:

- **Compass** — shows the direction your device is pointing.

- **Level** — shows whether a surface is flat, or whether your device is

 held upright and plumb.

These sensor readings are processed on your device, shown to you in real

time, and never saved, logged, or sent anywhere. Closing the app discards

them immediately. The "Set zero" calibration option on the Level screen is

also held only in memory for as long as the app is open — it resets the

next time you launch the app.

## What the app does not do

- It does not access your location.

- It does not access your contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.

- It does not require or offer account creation or sign-in.

- It does not connect to the internet — the app has no network permission

and makes no network requests of any kind.

- It does not use analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising services.

- It does not use cookies or any other cross-app tracking technology.

- It does not share, sell, or transmit any data to third parties, because

no data is collected or transmitted in the first place.

## Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app

adds a feature that does access the network or collect data — this page

will be updated first, with a revised effective date above, before that

change ships.
